  1. When and where will the 9th Pan-European Conference on International Relations take place?

    The Conference will take place from Wednesday 23 September to Saturday 26 September 2015 at the Hilton Giardini Naxos Conference Center, Giardini Naxos, Sicily, Italy.

  2. Who organizes the Conference?

    The Conference is organised by the European International Studies Association (EISA) in association with the University of Catania.

  3. Who can apply to the Conference?

    We welcome applications from scholars from all fields of international studies and beyond, as well as practitioners who aim to contribute to scholarly debates on the themes explored in the Conference.

  4. Where do I apply to the Conference?

  5. When can I apply to the Conference?

    We welcome submissions as of 8 December 2014 until 15 January 2015.

  6. What is the deadline for submitting a proposal?

    The deadline is 15 January 2015.

  7. What kinds of proposals are accepted to the Conference?

    We welcome paper, panel, and roundtable proposals to any one of the 64 Conference sections, most of which address the 2015 Conference theme.

  8. What is the format of the Conference sections?

    Sections are sets of either 5 or 10 thematically coherent panels of 105 minutes each. Each section is convened by one or two section chairs, who are responsible for selecting the papers, panels, and roundtables submitted to their respective sections.

  9. What is the format of the Conference panels and roundtables?

    Panels run for 105 minutes each and are composed of 5 papers and a discussant who will also act as chair. Roundtables run for 105 minutes each and are composed of 5 presenters and a chair who is responsible for setting the scene.

  10. Can proposals be submitted to the programme chairs directly?

    No. All proposals have to fit in one of the 64 Conference sections. There will be no open section or panel.

  11. Can I submit the same proposal to more than one section?

    No. A given proposal can only be submitted to one section at a time. If the section you chose does not select your proposal, it might be considered by another section in a second stage of the selection process.

  12. Can I submit more than one proposal?

    Yes. You can submit more than one paper/panel/roundtable proposal, but you can appear on the final programme with no more than 3 contributions, whether as paper giver, roundtable presenter, or panel/roundtable chair-discussant — each of these counts as one contribution.

  13. Is there a participation limit?

    Yes. You can appear on the programme with no more than 3 contributions, whether as paper giver, roundtable presenter, or panel/roundtable chair-discussant — each of these counts as one contribution.

  14. When can I expect to be informed of the acceptance/rejection decision?

    We aim to inform all applicants of our decision by 13 March 2015.

  15. What is the registration deadline?

    The registration deadline is 17 April at 23:59 CET.

  16. Do I need to be a member of the EISA in order to submit a proposal?

    No. Anyone can apply to the Conference.

  17. Do I need to be a member of the EISA in order to register for the conference?

    No. You do not need to be a member of EISA to register for the conference. However, if you are or become a member of EISA you will enjoy a significant discount on the registration fee.

  18. How do I get to the Conference venue?

    The Fontanarossa International Airport (CTA) is the nearest and most convenient airport to Giardini Naxos. Please see more travel information.

  19. Are there any travel discounts for Conference participants?

    Yes. Our partner Lufthansa Group Partner Airlines offers special prices and conditions to participants, visitors, exhibitors, and invited guests attending the Conference.

  20. Are there specific hotels offering special rates for Conference participants?

    Yes. Several hotels in Giardini Naxos will offer participants a range of accommodations at a special rate. Please see more accomodation information.

  21. Can I expect to be financially supported to attend the conference?

    Unfortunately, the 9th Pan-European EISA Conference is unable to provide financial support for anybody attending or presenting at the conference.

  22. May I attend the conference without submitting a paper or panel proposal?

    You are most welcome to register, to attend and to enrich the discussion.

  23. How do I get my visa?

    If they are accepted for participation in the conference, participants will find a visa invitation letter in their submission page on Conf Tool once they have registered for the conference.

  24. How do I create an account and submit a contribution?

  25. How do I get discounted fees?

    All EISA members are entitled to discounted fees compared to non-EISA members.

  26. Refund policy

    Refund of conference fee claıms made 15 June – 15 July will be 50 % refunded. After 15 July there will be no refund. In case you are unable to attend the 9th Pan European conference and you want to have your conference fee partly refunded, please direct your request to Charlene at info@eisa-net.org with CC to elem.eyrice@yasar.edu.tr (so your presentation can be removed from the programme).

  27. Conference Rooms: PCs and beamers

    All Conference Rooms for Panels and Round Tables are equipped with PCs and beamers. EISA participants can use their external key to present powerpoint slide shows. Please let us know if you are using other slide show programmes.

  29. How do I upload my paper to the Online Paper Archive?

    In just a few steps you can upload your paper, but you must first register to the Online Paper Archive and access your private area.
    NB: The username and password are not the same for access to ConfTool.

    1) You need to re-register to paneuropeanconference.org.
    To do so you must sign in the PARTICIPANT LOGIN

    2) You must fill the registration form. Your email address is not yet registered to the website ‘paneuropeanconference.org’ and registration is by invitation only.

    3) Check if you have received a confirmation email from EISA with the link to register. Now you can register.

    4) Now that you are registered, you can access the private area to upload your paper (dashboard). Please click on the ‘Upload’ button’ from "Menu User" and upload your documents. Finally, view the archive of uploaded papers.
